Description of Partnership Governance Advisory Teacher Education Council The council is comprised of representatives from the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Education and Human Services, and Science and Mathematics, as well as representatives from the partner pK-12 school districts. The Teacher Education Council is designed to further develop the collaboration established between the fields of education, arts, and sciences, which are likely to produce teachers for our nations schools. College of Education and Human Services Partnership Committee (CEHS) This partnership committee is designed to identify and address the issues related to maintaining partnerships such as: establishing criteria/ conditions for selecting partner schools, developing application packages/processes, designing an induction process, develop a process for assessment of partnership, decision making and making recommendations to the Dean concerning new partnerships. The membership of the committee is composed of the Associate Dean, Partnership/Outreach Administrator, Department chairs, one faculty member from each department, one representative from Lake Campus, Director of Student Services, Director of Professional Field Experience and Director of dpd. TED Partnership Steering Committee This committee is the vehicle for dialoging, problem solving, addressing concerns and recommending program and field placement changes. The membership of this committee is the Chair of TED, Director of OPFE, Partnership /Outreach Administrator, and TED faculty who are site liaisons for the partnership schools. Intern Cohort Meetings These meetings separately bring lower level and higher level interns together to discuss program concerns, share experiences and keep the lines of communication between the interns and TED and OPFE open. Partner school District/ College of Education and Human Services Partner School Steering Committee This is the district level committee established to improve and sustain the partnership relationship through dialogue, collaboration, and problem solving on mutual concerns of the partnership. This committee generally meets monthly, with the following participants in attendance: the Superintendent or the Superintendent designee, Dean of CEHS or his designee, Partner School Administrators, Chair of TED, Director of OPFE, Clinical Teachers or Representatives of Clinical teachers, Site Liaisons assigned to the particular school district, and Partnership/ Outreach Administrator. Advisory Council The council provides each local partner school with a major communication and decision making body designed for improvement. Each partner schools council membership includes a Partner School Administrator, a clinical partner school faculty, interns, CEHS TED appointed faculty liaisons and Partnership/Outreach Administrator. The Advisory council is shared ownership giving all participants an opportunity to express their perspectives. Focus Groups A focus group was established at select schools (EJ Brown of Dayton Public Schools, CF Holliday of West Carrollton, and Trotwood Middle School of Trotwood Madison City Schools) in order to guide interested staff into looking at their work as they prepare to improve their students learning. This also improves and maintains a collaborative relationship between WSU and the Partner Schools. Generally the Building Administrator, TED faculty and Volunteer Partner School Faculty are the participants. Site Based Council EJ Brown, a Dayton Partner School, is preparing for Site Based Management during 2001-2002 school year. A site-based council is the executive governance committee for the school. The council will comprise of representatives from EJ Brown and WSU, Parents, and the community. PEP Network Steering Committee The objective for the steering committee is to improve and sustain the partnership relationship through dialogues, collaboration, and brain storming on mutual PEP concerns. Membership on this committee is Partner Schools Administrators, TED Site Liaison Faculty, Chair of TED, Director of OPFE, Partnership/Outreach Administrator and representation of the Deans office. |
